1. Preparation

To prepare for the exchange I recommend to read all the important information that we get from the home university and from the university abroad.

2. Accommodation

It is organized really well, because you can apply for student housing and you get the link for that from the university. I have lived in a shared apartment with 5 other girls and we were really close to the city center as well as to the Uni.

3. Academic life at host university

The campus is compared to WU Vienna really small. However, I really enjoyed that because I could experience the student life at a small university where you often meet your colleagues coincidently. In my opinion the teaching style is slightly different than at WU Vienna, because at Hanken we had a lot of assignments to finish and a lot of readings that we had to prepare for the courses. The exams were in my opinion easier than at WU Vienna, because the professors told us what the important materials were and asked about them in the exam. In total, the effort was totally fine and the professors were really kind and helpful.

5. Every day life in the host country

The public transport works really well and you can get a student discount for the monthly tickets. I always felt really safe in Helsinki and there are many things to do. Regarding sports there are a lot of options for students.

6. Testimonial

It is mainly the people you meet and the experiences you make with them, that makes you exchange special. For us it was really nice because most of the exchange students from my uni lived in the same building and we spent a lot of time together. It is a great experience to get out of your comfort zone and grow.
