1. Preparation

When choosing a partner university, I would consider the following criteria: Which courses do I still need to take, and which courses can I take at the partner university (check the Excel sheet for credit transfer)? Which location do I like, and where could I imagine living for several months? To prepare, you can try to look for accommodation relatively early, as the good and affordable options often go quickly. I shared an apartment with two other WU students, which was also really cool and sometimes helpful.

2. Accommodation

To prepare, you can try to look for accommodation relatively early, as the good and affordable options often go quickly. I shared an apartment with two other WU students, which was also really cool and sometimes helpful. We used the provider "aTemporal" which was in general an okay experience. Unfortunately, it must be said that some other students had problems with their apartments and providers. In comparison, we were really lucky. We had a 3 bedroom appartment close to the Metro Station Paralel (good connection to the university, beach and city centre). Do not rent in the district El Raval it is said to be very shady and people dont feel safe there, but we walked through there quite often and nothing luckily nothing happened to us.

3. Academic life at host university

The campus is rather remote and not very modern. Compared to WU, it is very poor. There are few places to study and the buildings are old. There are only cafeterias and no supermarkets nearby. The courses themselves were mostly okay. They are not as demanding as at WU and you don't have to prepare as much from one session to the next.

6. Testimonial

My semester abroad was really cool overall. I met lots of new people and made friends. It's generally a great experience to be able to live in another country for a while.
