1. Preparation

You will be put in Whatsapp Groups at the beginning of the semester, use them and try to already connect with people even if you are still at home. Regarding travel choice, I think it is the easiest to book a flight and within Lisbon try to get your metro card as soon as possible especially if you are under 24 (it's free then).

2. Accommodation

I would look at uniplaces, spotahome etc. but always make sure that there are reviews and the landlords are verified to avoid being scammed. Additionally, I recommend living in a area that is connected either to the blue or yellow metro line, preferably blue (closer to the city centre). Lisbon in general is very safe but be aware of pickpocketing especially in Bairro Alto.

3. Academic life at host university

The campus is not as pretty and modern at WU and academic level I would say is a little bit lower. However, the number of electives one can choose from is very high. Other than that I think you have to be aware that almost all courses at Catolica are based on exams. As I did a double degree half of the courses are mandatory, therefore these ones need to be completed. For the electives, I would recommend Responsible Business and Managing Social Innovation - very interesting.

5. Every day life in the host country

Lisbon offers a lot of options - beach, going out, sports like Padel etc. Everything is quite connected by metro and by foot (be aware of the hills!). The city offers a lot of social activities that are affordable and will fill up your day. Make use of them to connect with people and enjoy the city.

6. Testimonial

The mix of people (!) and the city. Everyone is super friendly and eager to make new friends. I have made lifelong friends in Lisbon and would recommend this experience to anyone.
