1. Preparation

Biggest topic is Accommodation. I lived on campus and didn't look for housing in the city. Depends on what kind of stay, you want to have. Getting into the student housing is based on luck, so have a plan B (I didn't). Book the flights early. Make sure to look at the module list and every module in detail, as some can be a lot of work or very boring. You want to have as less work when you are there as possible.

2. Accommodation

I lived in Belgrove House 15. It was the cheapest of them, but what you get for the money should be a crime. But thats just Dublin, you should get used to it. The prices are out of this world, i would suggest to not come here. The price was the most annoying thing during my stay. but i still enjoyed it. Campus is really nice, you have everything what you need. the washing machines often didn't work in my laundrette, so get ready to get mad. I would have loved to live in the city, of course the Bus takes long but if you plan right you only need to go to the university on 1-2 days, as most courses don't have attendance.

3. Academic life at host university

The university is very big and having a Campus with Trees is quite nice and relaxing. Other than that the teachting style is very similar to WU: A lot of Group-work and basically the same topics. Take the courses that interests you and look for the grading criteria. The Groupwork is most of the times very easy, and the Exams are not nice to prepare for, as they give you almost zero information sometimes. I took First Year courses as I wanted to have it as easy as possible and sometimes i was really bored.

5. Every day life in the host country

Pubs and Nature. The city is small and you get used to it very fast. Rain. For me it was safe. Buses are the worst. The campus is nice for relaxing and the gyms are great. Also a lot of Societys and Events.

6. Testimonial

The nature of Ireland. Rent a car and get out of Dublin. I made 3 big trips and I enjoyed it so much. Also some nice day trips from Dublin for cheaper budget. The campus sometimes made me miss VIenna but the social life in Dublin can be so good. Enjoy your stay.
