1. Preparation

Book your flight to Copenhagen and take the Flix bus to Aarhus. There are not many flights to Aarhus Airport. You can also try to fly to Billund. Apply for living through AU living or look at other options such as Basecamp. Get a Revolut card or a N26 card so you don't have to pay additional fees every time you pay something in Danish crowns. Download the APP "Reijsekort". It is the app for all public transportation in Aarhus. You "check in" on the app when you get in the bus and "check out" when you leave and the app tracks which route you took and will charge you accordingly.

2. Accommodation

You can apply for AU housing and get an offer through the university or something privat such as Basecamp. The application through AU housing is super easy. You get a link where you rank different options such as "shared houses" or "dorms". I would also look how close it is to university. AU housing can sometimes be far away. I lived at Basecamp. It was very close to the university but expensive. The university campus is huge, depending on which the department you are in the buildings where you have classes etc. vary a lot. So check that out. Law and Business is the "Aarhus BSS" department. I never felt unsafe during my whole stay even at night.

3. Academic life at host university

The campus is amazing and beautiful with a huge park a nice but rather small library. You can study in the library or rent rooms in other build through the university webpage. I had 3 courses - each 10 ECTS. In each course we had 3 hours class per week. The teachers are people directly out of practice which was very cool. There were only oral exams. You get the topics beforehand and in the exam you pick a topic then present a bit about the topic (without visual aid) and then they ask you questions. They were super nice during the exams and way more chilled then back home at WU. You are in the exam room with your teacher(s) and an external examiner who look at if you are treated and graded fairly.

5. Every day life in the host country

Public transport per month around 50-60 euros but you can rent a bike through swapfiets for 20 euros a month or an electrical bike for around 60 euros per month. Aarhus is super safe I never felt unsafe! We did reformer pilates at SINK reformer. There are a lot of run clubs. Also one through university. Every Tusday is international night at the student house. It's something else each week. Sometimes it's a party, or a knit and sip or BBQ. Follow esnaarhus, fredagsbar_guiden, studenterhusaarhusofficial on instagram. They always post about events happening in Aarhus and also for exchange students.

I loved the country. A lot of good restaurants and bars around the city. The university campus is amazing. You can hang out there when it's good weather. Bellevue beach is also super close. We always took the bikes there.The town is beautiful. We booked an amazing lappland trip through ESN Aarhus. I loved the city. There was a lot to do but also the city was super chill.
