1. Preparation

When choosing a partner university, I would recommend selecting a country that you feel connected to or have always wanted to visit. Personal interest in the country and its culture can make the exchange experience more enjoyable and meaningful. It is also important to consider the available courses, travel options and cost of living.

2. Accommodation

I chose to stay in a student residence located about 30 minutes from the university. Overall, I had a positive experience and felt safe there.

3. Academic life at host university

The academic culture was more personal and interactive than I was used to. The professors had a closer relationship with the students, and it was always possible to ask questions. I also met many new people and made a lot of friends, which helped me settle in quickly and made my exchange experience even more enjoyable.

5. Every day life in the host country

Public transportation was very good. There was a tram network that made it easy to reach almost every part of the city. The university also organized many social events and parties, which made it easier to meet other students. In terms of safety, I generally felt safe, although it is advisable to be more careful in certain areas, especially in the city centre. However, there was also a visible police presence there.

6. Testimonial

During my exchange semester, I made many new friends and stepped out of my comfort zone. At first, I was unsure whether I even wanted to go, but I am very glad that I decided to do it. Overall, studying abroad was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and it helped me become more open, independent and confident.
