Since I study CEMS, the process for applying for my exchange semester was quite straight-forward and organized. I attended the info session and followed every advice given there. Preparing for your semester at SSE: look for housing early, join the WhatsApp groups, and create a folder in your documents to save all important documents there. SSE administration is very well organized and you can always approach the coordinators here.
I made it the process quite easy for me. I applied at Unity Kista Campus (studio apartments for students) 3-5 months before arrival and got my contract within a day. If you plan to go there, choose a room that is at a higher level in the building so you get a nice view. The location is okay, although a bit far outside and you need to take the blue line (11) to the city center, and then change to green line (17, 18, 19) to get to uni. Takes you around 35 mins. Unity Kista has everything you need for an exchange semester (except cutlery, and all this kind of equipment).
Campus infrastructure: small school, main building has not too many spaces for learning, library was closed during my stay, House of Innovation is a nice place to learn, much art in the school Academic culture/teaching style: often typical lectures, a bit more challenging, excellent (1) is harder to get because it's capped at 20-25% of the course Courses in comparison to WU: more challenging, highly depends on course itself, finance/economics courses are harder than soft-skills courses
for the entire exchange
Public transport: works well, there is no semester ticket, you have to wait for your Mecenat card to be able to by student discounted tickets Safety: in Stockholm good, in suburbs a bit less safe Social/leisure activities: in winter with bad weather and little daylight few activities except for museums, nature is very close to city, sports: SASSE (Student Association offers some courses)
SSE is a great place for going on exchange. Expect a challenging study life but also expect to make many new friends throughout your stay. Attend as many of the (most of the times free) events at SSE that are of extremely high quality (e.g. Health and Wellbeing Day, company events, lunch lectures). Overall, I would choose SSE again.
