Find your accomodation soon! Especially in Rome its really hard to find something good close to the university. Also its a good idea to book the esn welcome week, because you get to meet new people there.
Its really hard to find something in Rome. I ended up finding something after a long time through facebook. But you should be really careful if you decide to do so. I lived with three italian girls that go to luiss themselves. It was very close to the parenzo campus as well as to the library which was very good. It was like 25 min to the romania campus which was also fine to walk. The transportation system in Rome is really bad, so its good to live somewhere close to one of the campuses. (There is a private shuttle bus service between the parenzo and romania campus which works great.) It felt like a very safe neighborhood. Tips: Start looking really soon and try to find something close to university.
The campus infrastructure is very nice, the only thing is that they don't have a big library or enough places to study in general. The teachers are mostly very invested. One of my professors even invited us to his country club to give us additional tips for the exam. The teaching style really depends on the course, but mostly similar to WU. They have some really interesting courses and I feel like they are easier than the ones in Vienna.
for the entire exchange
Public transport is really bad, it felt like they had a different strike nearly every week. But I did get the monthly ticket, just to travel around Rome. There are a lot of social activities with different erasmus organizations like ESN or ERA. They have multiple events every week. With ERA you can do different sports like running, pilates, volleyball etc. Especially in the beginning its good to go there to meet new people and make friends.
I really loved being in Rome and having the chance to meet people from all over the world. Its a beautiful city there is so much to see and there are really cute little cities around Rome as well that you can visit! (Like Tivoli, Orvietto, Viterbo) I made so many new friends and travelled around Italy a bit. It was an amazing experience
