2. Accommodation

I applied for student housing through AU Housing which you can do while giving the university all other required information (no extra step). You get an offer rather late, if you don’t accept it, you don’t get a second offer, so have a plan B ready if you are not sure that you will take the offer. For me it was perfect, a dorm room in a 2 person apartment, so I shared the kitchen and the bathroom with one other person, everything was super clean and rather modern and very close (~ 10 min by foot) to uniparken (where the law department is). Therefore it was super easy for me to find something! The dorms that are offered through AU Housing are also pretty cheap (mine was 405€ per month)

3. Academic life at host university

The campus is spread all over the city but the law department is in the main part (uniparken) which is more in the north of the city. There is not a lot directly around the university though. The courses were less hierarchical than at WU, no attendance requirement and also no participation requirement which was so nice for once! In some courses we also had short group works during the lessons. Overall I really liked the teaching style. Each course was 10 ECTS but it was more like a normal 4 ECTS course at WU (not one of the big 4)

5. Every day life in the host country

There are busses but they usually only run every 10 min and it takes some time to get around with them. There is also the Letbanen which is kind of like a tram but I almost never took it (runs every 15 min I think). I used the Rejsekort app for public transportation whith which you can check in and check out. There is also the midtraffik app. You are much faster on a bike, I just rented a Swapfiets for ~ 29€ per month. With a bike you are everywhere in about 10-15 min. But Aarhus is surprisingly hilly so it can be exhausting! Aarhus is extremely safe! There is a lot to do in Aarhus, it was never boring! Beginning of October there is the free museum week for people under 27 where you can enter every museum for free and Aarhus has a lot of them. For sports there is no such thing as USI, there are some sport options but it is not that easy, most people here go for runs or to the gym. If you like swimming, the Svømmestadion is the place to go!
