1. Preparation

Make impressive CV for the application process, watch some American movies to get used to their accent and be serious with all documents.Keep paper copies of your important documents like Visa, I-94 .Make sure that everything is okay with your health insurance.

2. Accommodation

I lived in shared room in Student dorm with one roommate in Lakeview Hall, University of Richmond, located in the campus.We were 4 guys which shared a bathroom and toilet, It was very safe. at all. I expected to be what it was.

3. Academic life at host university

The Campus is amazing, there are gym, swimming pool, wellness center, libraries and many other places where you can enjoy your stay on campus. The teaching style is different, small groups around 20 people in class, more interactive, the professors know your name. I can say that in Vienna, it is more theoretical than in Richmond.That is the big difference.

5. Every day life in the host country

We had public transportation from the campus to the city center every day. Regarding safety I can say that it depends mostly on the places you visit for instance in Atlanta felt really dangerous, while Boston felt very safe. I can't say that it is dangerous in the USA, but as everywhere safety situation depends from the area you are. There are many sports clubs and other activities clubs in the university.

6. Testimonial

The exchange semester was one of the best periods in my life. Also, I have traveled a lot. For example, I visited Boston and stayed at the MIT Fraternity House with more than 35 MIT students. This experience was very valuable to me because I learned a lot in just a few days and realized that MIT students are not better than me, they just work harder. I can use what I learned in the future to work harder and become a better version of myself.
