Start looking for a place to live early, this makes it less stressful and you will have more options. Be active from the beginning, both social and in the lectures.
I lived at Home&Co in a studio and was very happy with this decision. It is a little far from the city center, but a very nice walk to campus. The cost were 615 Euros per month including every this, except laundry/dryer. It felt very safe and mostly other students that live there, also many from the other University UPNA due to the location.
It is important to be present and participate. It varied among the different courses, but overall I had many group-works in addition to the final exam.
for the entire exchange
Bus is very cheap, 50 cents per ride. You can buy a card at the location tobacco-shops. Every Thursday it's Juevinxtos which is to recommend. There are many Erasmus events where you meet many other exchange students, but I recommend trying the local bars as well, Pamplona has a lot to offer. Sport options are very good and you can book Padle-court for free!
This experience has given me new perspectives, friends and many learnings. It is a very different culture at the university and you feel welcome by the professors. I am very thankful that I got to travel, both to Barcelona and many smaller cities closer. Pamplona is not the biggest city, but a perfect one for a good student community!
