You should focus a lot on your courses and a proper selection regarding schedule & content. Some universities offer a late switch under exceptional circumstances, but more often than not you will be stuck with what you choose. Further, create a schedule with all dead lines, and if necessary focus on getting your Visa approved as early as possible
Live on campus. You miss out otherwise, and getting to the city is easier than one would think - as an exchange student you also don't get assigned to freshman dorms so it is usually quite nice. Most have very nice roommates, try and socialize as you'll spend months with them
Campus is built on a hill so there's a workout, but there's also a bus every other interval that rides around campus. Professors are very nice, and senior-level courses match WU's hardest courses. Exam season is similar to WU
for the entire exchange
Public transport in Boston is good, you'll get anywhere. I felt very safe as well, Life, especially on campus, is very social and you'll meet lots of people. Also a lot of events, try and attend all of them for the experience. Sports options are amazing, there's a lot of sports on campus available to all
Living abroad feels surreal at first, though you get used to it very quickly and Americans are very open to exchange students. The students are great, and you'll be asked a ton about back home. Make good friends, as they'll give reason to come back. My highlight were the professors, as with 3/5 I am still in touch with regarding personal developments and global developments. Bentley's finance focus and trading room are also incredible.
