1. Preparation

Since I stayed within the EU, the preparation was very straightforward. I knew that ESSEC is a great university in advance and I already knew Paris. I would recommend to check the location of the campus in advance (not in Paris directly!) and to familiarize with the housing market, since it is rather difficult to get a flat for short time rent in Paris. (accommodation on campus is easy to organize)

2. Accommodation

I stayed in the ALLEGESSEC housing provided by the university. Since it is located in Cergy, it was rather difficult to get into the city (40min by train) and unfortunately the student housing also wasn't located to close to campus either (25min walk). I would recommend renting a flat in Paris if you manage to find one and don't need to be present on campus every day of the week. The student residence itself was alright though

3. Academic life at host university

Great campus facilities (many sports options especially and a great student pub), good teaching style and smaller classes compared to WU. Can recommend

5. Every day life in the host country

Good public transport, no safety issues and lots to do in Paris!
