1. Preparation

The SSE has an early course selection process. Please note that course registration takes place very early (in my case, on 6 May for the autumn semester). The system works exactly like at WU: first come, first served. Popular courses can be fully booked within seconds. If necessary, courses can be changed later on very easily. The list of available courses is published well in advance. I recommend checking the syllabus early.

2. Accommodation

I lived in the Campus Star in Spanga vom SBS. The process of finding an Accommodation was quite easy because I chose a student housing in Stockholm. There a several companies offering Student Housing in Stockholm because the shared flat market is quite small, especially for male students. Overall Spanga as a student housing is totally fine. The Accommodation is quite new, there are laundry rooms, a gym and also a common area to use. Unfortunately it takes around 35-40 Minutes to get to the SSE and the bus to the Train station only goes every 30 Minutes (on the weekends even less), the Train leaves on weekdays every 5 -15 Minutes, on weekends less. So you definitely need to walk to the station or back at some point. Spanga is a safe and mostly clean Location to live, also in the nights. Because of the size of the Student housing, you will never walk home alone to your appartment in the night.

3. Academic life at host university

The life in the university is quite interactive. Everyone studies in the Aula of the University. Unfortunately there was no library at the time I arrived because of construction work during this time. Compared to the WU, the Campus is quite small, its only one main building and two additional with a few more study places. The Teaching style is quite interactive, like in school. Overall you need to do more than at the WU, they expect you to really prepare for the courses and follow up on it, as it will be asked about directly in the next lecture.

5. Every day life in the host country

The SSE and the student organisation SASSE organised a lot of events. Every week there are several sport activities like paddle tennis, Golf, Soccer and many more. The SASSE organises parties, too. The Public Transport in Stockholm in general is really good, like in Vienna. There are Trains and Busses everywhere and they also go in the night. On Weekends the whole night and during the week until 2am in the morning. Stockholm is a safe place to live. Even though you hear about a lot of crime in Stockholm, I didn't notice any. The area around the university is particularly safe. There is also extra security and police are often seen in public places.

6. Testimonial

Great experience at the SSE, I would always come back. There were many nice events and also the city itself is really beautiful.
