1. Preparation

Think about what you expect from your exchange semester the most. Whether it is exploring different culture, learning a language, or studying at a great university, this can help you choose a country or university that will fit you the most.

2. Accommodation

I have stayed in a student residence and I was quite satisfied. It was a good price/quality ratio.

3. Academic life at host university

The teaching style is a bit different from what we have at WU. The courses were usually less demanding. I personally would recommend taking a Financial Management class, which was slightly more demanding than other classes, but provided a good understanding of the basic finance concepts.

5. Every day life in the host country

The public transport in Japan has been more expensive but at the same time, it is always on time and works really well. Japan is generally a really safe country and I didn't have to worry about it at all. Even coming home in the evenings never seemed to be dangerous. In general, there is a lot to see in Japan. Kobe is located near some very nice places so I would definitely recommend exploring these.

6. Testimonial

My exchange in Japan has been a really enriching experience. Japan is a unique country with a fascinating culture, unique traditions, and amazing cuisine. In addition to learning about its systems and ways of working, I also had the opportunity to explore the country and visit some of its most remarkable places.
