1. Preparation

It was really easy to prepare, everything went really easy. I travelled by train (RegioJet), it is only around 4 hours.

2. Accommodation

I lived in a dormatory where almost all exchange student from VSE lived (Eislerova kolej). I payed around 470 EUR for a single room with a balcony per month. The building was old, and because of a renovation always loud and we could not use the common rooms such as kitchen and fitness room. The tram stop is right in front of the dorm, so going to the city center is around 25 min. Kaufland and Lidl is 2 stops away.

3. Academic life at host university

Compared to WU campus it looks really old with less study rooms and smaller library. But there are a lot of study cafes near the campus. The teaching style is easier, the exam is only a smart part of the grade the main focus is on the group projects and participation. I would really recommend the HR management seminar and the world economy course for exchange students.

5. Every day life in the host country

The public transport is really good and cheap, with ISIC card the 3 month pass was around 13 euros. I would say the city is safe but there are a lot of homeless and drunk people on the streets in the night. In Prague you can always find some cool activities and go for pub crawls. Gym memberships are also not that expensive like in Vienna, but I was mostly running in parks.

6. Testimonial

Prague is a great destination if you like to go out and make new friends. The city is beautiful but if you are not into partying you might feel a bit alone. I liked that it is cheaper than Vienna but I still prefer Vienna over Prague. The most special part was meeting new people and I loved that my friends from home could also visit me since it is not that far away.
