1. Preparation

The semester at EBS starts at the beginning of February and the welcome days are the week prior, so it can happen that the uni starts, but you still have exams at WU, so calculate for that. The winter is quite cold so bring warm clothes. Due to the cold, you can't do a lot outside, so you have to pass the time with some activity inside.

2. Accommodation

I stayed at Larsen SUME. It was recommended by EBS and it is approximately 25-30 minutes from EBS (there are multiple busses that will suit you). The building and the room are quite modern, you have everything you need (community and your own kitchen, laundry room, gym etc). Moreover, there is a 24/7 Maxima next to it, so you can get anytime groceries. There is also gym! 10 minutes from the accommodation.

3. Academic life at host university

The university is quite small compared to WU. In most classes we were max. 30 students, so they try to focus on group works and the exams are not difficult. There are also a couple of classes where you don't have an exam.

5. Every day life in the host country

The public transport is really good, it is also free if you get an Estonian ID, however this costs 45 euros. Estonia is really safe in terms of criminality, however there were couple of incidents regarding Russian drones flying in. When the weather gets better, you have a lot of options for social activities (going to Tellisikivi or to the beach). There are a lot of gyms around, but you can also cycle because there are a lot of bike lanes.

6. Testimonial

The first couple of weeks were a bit difficult, to get used to the cold and darkness. For the point on when the weather gets better you can do a lot of things. If you choose the right classes, with less attendance, you will have more than enough time to travel all the nearby countries. I would also recommend going Saaremaa (Estonian Island) it is beautiful, however you need to rent a car for the trip in order to get around on the island. Bolt Drive is a good option, it costs around 35-40 euros a day. I you want to get around Estonia or the Baltic countries I would recommend to travel with LuxExpress, it is much better than Flixbus (for the same price).
