EPOG is very special but as an EU student, the preparation is quite easy since you dont need visa etc.
Most colleagues of mine used the student accomodation offered by Cité and were very happy with it! Take it, finding accommodation in Paris is absolutely horrible. I stayed privately first with friends and then in an Airbnb and it was crazy expensive and not advisable.
The semester in Paris is extremely chaotic and challenging. I definitely advise you to prepare mentally for that. you can also take concrete steps eg. really think about your master thesis before coming here. course work is crazy, you need to attend a crazy amount of classes with 100 different profs. The Campus is okay but you also need to travel quite a lot in Paris. teaching style depends highly on professor, many international profs are great, some aren't, there are also some language problems from the profs.
for the entire exchange
Public transport is amazing (though a bit expensive). Paris offers a great variety of things to do but workload is so heavy that it's very hard to do a lot of things next to uni. Safety feels very good where I am. Events are great, there are amazing concerts in Paris, tons of exhibitions etc.
The experience was honestly quite hard, this was the most stressful semester of my academic career and I am not sure I am able to learn so much since there are so many things to organise, so many courses to do etc. It teaches me a lot about how to deal with stress etc. but it's far from chill.
