I looked at a lot of different sites (Idealista, spotahome etc.), but ended up booking my place at the student residence site “The Nest Milan”. They offer apartments primarily to international students. I booked an apartment in Citta Studi (35 min. away from uni), and while I liked the apartment and felt safe in the area, I wish I had booked sth. closer to uni. I can recommend The Nest though, they also have apartments closer to Bocconi.
The campus is nice. Academic culture and teaching style is comparable to the one at WU. There is a large variety of courses you can take, I think a bit larger than at WU. For study materials, students use studocu & coursehero.
for the entire exchange
The public transportation system in Milan works well and is reliable. I’d say Milan is a bit less safe than Vienna. Be aware of pickpockets. Lots of events organised for exchange students, especially by the ESN. Bocconi also organised events in the Welcome Week.
I had a great time in Milan, and I think that Bocconi offers something for everyone. There is a very wide selection of courses you can take. Lots of social events organised for international students. Lots of career events and work-related workshops. If you’re interested in doing a Masters at Bocconi, a bonus is that you don’t need to pass the GMAT to apply, because of your exchange here.
