1. Preparation

My advice is to bring less luggage. Malaysia is a great place to travel and see other countries too, and things are definitely cheaper in East Asia, so you should definitely pack less to avoid problems with excess baggage on your return trip.

2. Accommodation

Definitely try to get an apartment in Invito. Invito is close to campus and is a student hotspot. The accommodation itself is super nice and has an unbeatable rooftop pool. If you live further away from the university, keep in mind that you'll be almost entirely dependent on Grabs (their Uber). Subways and trains do work sort of, but I can definitely emphasize that the city isn't designed for public transport, but rather for cars, which is why walking or getting from A to B is sometimes difficult.

3. Academic life at host university

The campus is huge, green, lively and clean. The campus is huge, green, lively, and clean. I'd especially like to highlight the cheap and good food options on campus, where you can get meals for 1-2 euros. My courses were very unstructured and significantly less organized than those at WU. Be prepared for things to be more flexible. Regarding courses, I can highly recommend Digital Marketing, Leadership, Theories in Management and Soft Computing, as the effort involved was manageable.

5. Every day life in the host country

University life revolves largely around the campus. We didn't do much within the city itself because we couldn't establish a routine there. However, the university allows for a lot of travel both within and outside of Malaysia. When I wasn't traveling, I mainly ate a lot and did sports.

Every week can be a new adventure, offering the chance to explore exciting new places. Occasionally, you can also take a break in Kuala Lumpur. The food in KL is very diverse, as it's a melting pot of cultures, meaning you have a great selection of dishes.
