1. Preparation

The best way is to find and ask people that were at the same university about their experience and tips. All in All, you do not need to prepare that much for the university, besides course registration, as you can even change most of these things once you are there. The only real challenging part is finding an apparment i would say as this determines many important things for you exchange semester. So try to be early and find a good and nice place.

2. Accommodation

Regarding the Accomodation, most people tend to life in shared apparmentmens as student residences are very expensive in Valencia, however are also very nice if you want to pay the extra. You should at least start 2-3 months before your arrival to search for a place however the sooner you start the better. I used idealista to find my place, howver it was very complicated and took a very long time. However it was a very cosy place in the end. There are many other sides and apps that help in finding a place. Regarding the location and area, i recommend the areas of camins del grau, or definitely around blasco ibanez, to be as close to university as possible and as in this area are also a lot of outgoing places. I do not recommend cabanyal for a living area and maybe not anything further than gran via or ruzaffa as its to far for university.

3. Academic life at host university

I was at the faculty of economics as most of us will be. It is a nice campus, however also nothing too special. The cafeteria is nice and very cheap. I recommend going to the cafeteria of the law facutly as its a bit cheaper even and also closer to the main entrance and with good seating positions. Regarding the courses, spanisch courses are a bit different to WU. Beginning with the ECTS count, as spanisch courses have generally 6 ects. Other than that it really depends on the teacher, as they can make a course great but also very bad at the same time, but thats true everyhwere i think. For courses i like, international economics and introduction to economic policy, as the teachers were good. I do not recommend strategic management.

5. Every day life in the host country

Public transport is very good in valencia. I recommend registrating for a joven30 card as soon as possible as then you only pay around 15 Euro for one month of travel and dont need to buy the recharging cards for 10 trips, as this can be more expensive if you use them a lot. In general Valencia is a very safe city. I never experienced any fear and unsafe situations. However still there are some places i would not go to alone at night, espeically in the more outside areas of the city, but thats just common sense i think. Overall there are always things to do, many parties and other free time acitivies. Erasmus life and happy erasmus post them every single day, so you can easily have the info.

6. Testimonial

Valencia is probaply one if not the best city for a fun and perfect erasmus, as the city is great for young people. Overall you will fall in love with the spanisch lifestyle, people, food and pretty much every aspect during your stay. I can only deeply recommend Valencia. It was really the best time of my life.
