1. Preparation

I traveled with to the plane to Porto. There are plenty of cheap direct flight with Ryanair etc. I prepared my list of courses quite well, which is really helpful. But the Uni in Porto is also quite ,,chill" and not that strict if you want to change courses.

2. Accommodation

I booked my room (shared apartment with 2 others) via Uniplaces. I recommend this Company! Great support and variety. I would also recommend the ,,Social Hub" in Porto. A lot of friends lived there and it is so easy to connect to people there. Especially in the beginning. But very important is to look for a room in the city center. Do not book a room next to the uni, as this is a quire area not in the city center. I paid 560EUR: My bus drive was 30-40 min. Was totally fine!

3. Academic life at host university

the Uni is way less organized in comparison to the WU. You need to get used to it. Everything is more slow and chill. Deadlines are not that strict, especially with the course choose. But after a few weeks you will notice that they are well organized but in a different way. This is also part of studying abroad. Teaching style is also different. Every course is split up into lecture and workshops. Attandency is not always required, but is part of the grade - so go always to the lecture, as the final exam is harder than expected. My courses were: Corporate Finance (Favoriet course. Amazing Professor, really interesting) Operational Management (Really good course, especially in comparison to the WU ,,BLP" course.) International Management (This was my hardest course. It is interesting but do not underestimate the workload here) Strategy (also very good, but a lot of workshops) Introduction to Portuguese Language and Culture. (10/10: No language course!)

5. Every day life in the host country

The public transport is for free for under 25. The Busses are really very unreliable and annoying. Metro is really good, like in Vienna. The daily life is amazing and just fun. There is a reason why Porto was ranked Top1 for Erasmus destinations. You can connect very easily through e.g. Erasmus Life Porto or ESN Porto. There is always something going on. I had an amazing time and I recommend it to everyone. The cost in porto it self are very cheap, compared to Vienna or other big cities. Through my trips and holiday, I had ,,higher daily expenses" of course. The city is really really safe. You can easily walk in the night (For Man, the girls of course we always brought home as it is still a city with a lot of tourists): It never happened something to our female friends. 6. Testimonial

The people I met there are friends for live. My friend group was very international. Portugal is such a warm (the people) and beautiful country which makes fun to explore. Porto is an amazing city which is not as crowded as Lisbon. I had the best 6 months in my life.
