1. Preparation

The application process at WU was smooth. For preparation I opened a Revolut account as it was easiest to exchange to DKK

2. Accommodation

Housing at CBS is a bit tricky. I didn’t get a spot at one of CBS housing accommodations. I ended up staying at UMEUS. It is a private student housing place and a good option for one semester. If I would do it again I would try to rent a room at UMEUS Frederiksberg already before the housing deadline.

3. Academic life at host university

The campus environment is similar to WU. For the courses there is no mandatory attendance and the final exam counts 100% for the final grade. I took the courses Corporate Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, Cost and Management Accounting and Performance Management for Operations. Corporate Finance and Cost and Management Accounting had a bigger workload while the other two were not so demanding. However, I recommend going to all the classes for Corporate Finance and Cost and Management Accounting, so you don't have to study too much at the end for the final. The contents really pile up at the end.

5. Every day life in the host country

Public transport is decent. I would suggest downloading rejsekort for the tickets. It is also very easy to rent a bike and you can basically go everywhere in the city with the bike.

6. Testimonial

Overall I would say the exchange semester at CBS was a great experience. You can do a lot of things in Copenhagen and nearby. Especially in the beginning when the weather is still good life in Copenhagen is very nice. The last month of the winter semester, however, was very dark, hence I would suggest bringing a lot of Vitamin D.
