- Time spent at the partner university: 5 months
Find out about partner universities and course offerings early on. Talk to former outgoing students (important when choosing courses, as some courses are very easy compared to others). Check course offerings and exam formats early on (some courses have 72-hour papers as their exam format (very relaxed), others have sit-in exams).
Finding accommodation in Copenhagen is very time-consuming and competitive. Therefore: Apply early for several options for student accommodation (all organised by CBS). Support from CBS platforms is helpful (definitely use it!!). I recommend the Nimbusparken student housing in Frederiksberg (very central, very international people, close to the university, very good value for money).
Modern campus infrastructure with many study and group work rooms Strong focus on group work, discussions and practical relevance Workload during the semester is very relaxed, especially for Erasmus students Fewer traditional final exams than at WU Vienna – all my exams were paper submissions (48.72 hours or 2 weeks each) Courses are generally more interactive and application-oriented than at WU
for the entire exchange
Everything by bicycle Rarely by underground Lots of cool cafés, great bars, fantastic restaurants, lots of second-hand shopping, many parks, trips to the sea, endless sporting opportunities, great supermarkets everywhere (but everything is expensive)
Overall, it was a great time. I really liked the city, especially in the early months of August and September, because the weather was still great then. You can go swimming in the canals in the middle of the city, there are lots of saunas in winter and you can go out a lot (you just have to invest a bit more money for 5 months, but then you have a really good time)
