I used to live in a WG format of accommodation, I guess it’s the most popular and affordable way. Moreover, most of the people having WG chosen are exchange student which helps a lot in finishing friends. However, it’s better to start looking for one sooner rather than later due to high demand.
The campus is located relatively remote from the city center therefore it‘s better to be prepared to spend 30-60 minutes on the way. The campus itself is big and has different areas to discover, including a public library to study. Teaching style is more interpersonal as professor are engaged to communicate with students not judging them by final exams only. I seemed as a relatively big difference to me comparing to the WU system.
for the entire exchange
Public transport is very well organized, no issue traveling around the city any time of the day and night. It is safe but not recommended to walk outside deep at night in very remote districts. The amount and variety of social activities lets each exchange student find hobbies and keep themselves entertained. They are both language, sport, social, creative and many more other ones.
It gave me the opportunity to build a diverse network of connections and gain valuable new knowledge. I was able to explore different cultural perspectives while attending engaging courses that were not available at WU. This made the experience not only enriching and inspiring, but also highly beneficial for my future career and personal development.
