1. Preparation

We rented an apartment via Airbnb on Xindian District Office (green line) - highly recommend that - great for commuting to the university, city center, airport,... - otherwise it is quite challenging to find a nice apartment or to get a dorm.

2. Accommodation

Xindian District Office - 30 minutes ride by bus to the university - 30-40 minutes to the city center by U-bahn - 10 minutes to nature. We lived in an Airbnb with two friends from Vienna - it was around 480 € per person. Highly recommended.

3. Academic life at host university

The teaching style was worse compared to WU. The level of English proficiency highly depends on the Prof. I dropped some courses due to the level of English of the professor. Most Taiwanese students are shy - although you get a buddy (or two) that, at least in my case, are super helpful and nice. Most of the courses in English are full of exchange students.

5. Every day life in the host country

Super safe, a lot of free courts, parks, and fields - we played tennis - the university hosts many events. Public transport is quite cheap, clean and reliable.

6. Testimonial

It is a great place to explore the region. Although the tickets are not as cheap as those from Hong Kong, the city and nature are interesting and nice. The university is also nice, and you have quite a wide range of subjects to choose from. I was able to squeeze all my courses into two days, which gave me the option to explore the region beyond the academic grounds.
