I arrived in Sheffield one week before the Uni actually started, this is also what most of the students do. The Uni will host almost a event everyday where you have the chance to meet local students and exchange students from other countries as well. A tipp will be to get in contact with other exchange students from WU so you can spend this week together and its also easier to meet new people in a group. A Revolut card is definitely recommended. As for transportation, I would recommend you to take the direct flight from Vienna to Manchester and from there you can take the train with takes you a bit more than an hour. Get the app Trainline for all the train tickets, also there is a discount card which you pay 30 pounds and you get discount for each purchase, it definitely worth it.

I was in a privat student dorm called True Student Sheffield. I can really recommend you since it really near to the city center and the bars. The building is brand new and you can have your privat room with your own kitchen and bathroom. All the staff there are extremely friendly. What I can also recommend you is the Allen Court from Uni. You usually have 2-4 roomates in the flat and everything you need there. You will have your own bathroom in the room but you will share the kitchen with your flatmates. The advantages of that is you will automatically have your flatmates as your friends.

There is no a concept of campus for Uni of Sheffield since the buildings are all over the city. As a business student, be prepared to have a 25 minutes walk everyday to your class. Most of the buildings are modern. At first you might have to get used to the whole online system and classes but I am sure you will be soon adapted. The teaching style are quiet similar to WU.

Everyday life in Sheffield was comfortable and student-friendly. The city has a large student population, many cafés, restaurants, gyms, and social activities. People were generally friendly, and it was easy to communicate in English in daily life. The city is smaller than Vienna, but this made it easier to settle in and get around. Sheffield is also close to the Peak District, which is great for short trips and outdoor activities. The weather can be rainy and windy, so proper clothing is useful. I can also recommend to watch Sheffield hocky game and Sheffield United football game.

Overall I had a great experience in Sheffield. I had the experience of living in another country and experience a different Uni system. The highlight for me was definitely the friends I made there. We spent a lot of time and travel a lot together. These are the memories that I will never forget.
