Try to be open-minded and take every opportunity to meet new people and learn about different cultures. Participating in university events is a great way to make friends and feel more comfortable in a new environment. It is also important to manage your budget carefully and stay organized with academic deadlines. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone—it helped me experience my exchange semester to the fullest.

Before the semester started, I received an email from NHH with all the important information, including details about accommodation. I applied for three student housing options and was assigned a room in Hatleberg, which was only a five-minute walk from NHH. One thing I wish I had known beforehand is that there is a student fair where incoming students can pick up furniture, kitchen equipment, pillows, and many other items left behind by previous students for free. This would have saved me from buying things I didn't actually need to purchase.

I enjoyed studying at NHH and was very satisfied with the campus facilities. The university provides everything students need in one place, including a library, study areas, a canteen, and a career center. The campus environment is modern and well-equipped, making it easy to study and collaborate with other students. Most of my courses were taught in person, with some online lectures. I also attended several guest lectures, which provided interesting insights from industry professionals. Compared to WU Vienna, I found the teaching style to be slightly more interactive and discussion-based, with a strong emphasis on group work and participation.

Bergen has a good public transport system with buses and the Bybanen (light rail). I mostly used the buses, which were more than enough for getting around the city and to the university. I also found Bergen to be a very safe city and did not experience any safety-related issues during my exchange. There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, especially if you enjoy nature. Bergen is surrounded by mountains and offers great hiking and camping opportunities, including the famous Seven Mountains. Student life is also very active, with regular events and parties throughout the semester. For sports, I would recommend getting a Sammen membership. There is a gym right next to NHH, and the membership gives access to several gyms across Bergen, including one with a swimming pool. NHH also has a variety of student sports clubs that exchange students can join, although some of the more popular clubs can be difficult to get into.

My exchange semester was one of the best experiences of my studies. The most valuable part for me was meeting people from all over the world and making friendships that I hope will last for a long time. Stepping outside my comfort zone, experiencing a new culture, and sharing all these moments with new friends made the exchange truly special.
