If you are going to do your Erasmus Semester in Prague, I would recommend going by train, it is by far the best possibility. I went by car, but just because I have one from the company I work for. Secondly, if you don't want to stay at the dorms, the only official way to get a flat for short term rent via Airbnb but that's very expensive.

I got lucky because a friend of a friend had a free flat availably during my stay which I then rented. Other than that my experience was that the only possibility to find a flat is via Airbnb. Prague itself is very safe, I never encountered any danger. If you are going to live in the dorms offered from the university you will need roughly 20minutes to get to the university.

Campus facilities were okay, but still of course nothing compared to the WU campus. I would say the teaching style was roughly the same. For courses I would recommend to just take what ever looks interesting.

The public transport system is very modern, comparable to Vienna. As stated before, Prague is very safe and I have had no bad experience in this regard. For Social Actevities Prague also offers a lot, of course because of the beer price, a lot of them include drinking if you want. There are a lot of Events offered to Erasmus students, almost every week. For sports I started playing at a Czech Football Team, other then that there are nice running tracks.

For me the best thing was being exposed to international groups of students which was challenging but also very rewarding after putting in the effort of getting to know the people better. The Erasmus community there is very nice, I did a brewing course that was offered by the university in Budvar together with a bunch of other Erasmus students - I would say that was probably the most fun part.
