1. Preparation

Choose your courses wisely, make sure they fulfill the requirements and get them accepted by WU before the exchange! Get your accommodation and plane tickets 3-4 months prior, this way you will have multiple and cheaper options!

2. Accommodation

I found my accommodation through COVE, which is what most people did. I had a bedroom in a shared apartment with 5 other people, with shared bathroom as well. Location was very good near Orchard area, 25 minutes walk to or 20 minutes ride by bus to uni, also very safe as is Singapore in general. Unfortunately I was unlucky and had mold in my apartment, which spread in my room. I would advise you to check the apartment beforehand and to report any issues as early as possible.

3. Academic life at host university

Campus is similar to WU, multiple buildings spread around a 10 minutes walking distance. There are a bunch of places to eat, get a coffee or just hangout. Teaching style is also similar to WU, there are classes with 30-40 people. Professor are very nice, they engage in open discussions and are eager to help or answer your questions. As for the students they are a bit more competitive towards each other but still nice to incoming students. Take easy courses or electives which interest you!!

5. Everyday life

Public transport is very convenient, country is very safe. There are a bunch of activities to do and places to visit in and outside of Singapore. Parties with the exchange students are also organised all the time.

6. Exchange semester in a nutshell

The exchange gave me the opportunity to meet people from all around the globe and build close friendships. Living on a different continent, in such a diverse country, helped me gain a completely new perspective on life and many valuable insights for my personal growth.
