- Application process at WU seemed simple: just select SSE; no language certificate required; no study/stay permission required Preparing semester abroad: I would definitely recommend to get in touch with other students from WU who will also go to SSE for preparing housing, courses, etc. together. - Housing: I can recommend community living to get in touch with even more people. There is also a great diversity of students from other universities in Stockholm. We decided on community living by "Allihoop" in "Spanga" - a bit outside of Stockholm. Would therefore recommend to try something more closer to the city. - Studying: Check the previous courses or have a look at the grade statistics in the SSE portal. The semester abroad is divided into two terms. Normally, you will have a week of vacation in the end of October.

There are many provider in Stockholm for student accommodation. I can recommend SBS Studentbostäder and Allihoop. They offer several housing opportunities across Stockholm. I stayed in Spanga with Allihoop in a community living with 7 flatmates. We all had similar rooms with around 15 m2 and shared the bathroom with only one other. For Stockholm, rent was ok but the distance to the city was a disadvantage. It was more a suburb and had nothing to do with "living in Stockholm". When we planned to catch the bus and train in time, we needed approx. 30-40 min to Uni. Safety was ok but you should avoid some districts in Stockholm. You can look these up online.

Campus infrastructure: - Campus is placed very central in Stockholm - All studying facilities at one place, so easy to get everywhere. - Learning places are very limited -> hard to find study places. Academic culture: - very ambitious, high standard - kind of homogenous students - very scientific by including many paper to support each class Teaching style: - also ambitious professors, but sometimes I had the feeling they are teaching artificially difficult. - high interaction among students and profs - profs invited very interesting guests (lectures) straight from some huge companies in Sweden which made it more dynamic Compared to WU: - more ambitious and harder to get good grades - but interesting to experience a slightly different academic culture

Public transport: - approx. 60 €/month - good transport grid, reliable and in addition you can also use ferrys to reach spots around Stockholm Safety: many safety guards on the streets/bars and especially at events. Sometimes even too much so you felt observed. Social/sport activities: the university but also the Erasmus organization offer a wide range of activities. Especially the orientation week at SSE is a must. In general, the everyday life is similar to the Austrian one but a bit more expensive.

During my semester abroad in Stockholm, Sweden, I met many great people and made friendships that will probably last for a long time. Even though I spent a lot of time with other German students, I also got to know many international, mostly European, students. It was very interesting to experience a different teaching style and to live abroad for a longer period of time. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience because it helped me broaden my horizons.
