When selecting your target universities, pay attention to what courses they offer before you make your priority list. That will help your studies back at the WU. Look at the list that shows how many students applied for each university in the last application period in order to calculate your best chances. Write down important dates where and when you have to submit something. Go to the erasmus info event.

It was easy finding accommodation in Athens. I booked a Airbnb for 630 Euros a month where I lived alone. Other students used erathens and found nice shared apartments for half the price. My location was in the municipality Victoria. I dont recommend this area. The better options are Kypseli or Exarchia in which you are also close to the university and to the metro station Victoria. The safety in Victoria was not guaranteed, but I didnt have any problems. Other students were robbed.

The campus facilities are way smaller than at the WU. The main building is looking good from the outside. From the inside it's used and full of graffiti. The local students also smoke in there. There are two more facilities of the AUEB that are more modern and less used. The academic culture is more relaxed. The teaching style compared to WU Vienna is different. The lectures are all 3 hours long. The teaching method is mostly frontal. 80% of the courses are boring. The exams I had were a little bit less advanced than at the WU. But there is still some effort to do to get a grade 1 or 2. I dont recommend the courses: -International economics (boring, hard, and very dry) -Modern Enterprise Systems (unstructured, bad timing) I recommend: - Advertising (easy, friendly lecturer) - Conflict Management and negotiations (interactive, very very good lecturer)

Public transport: metro is alright, buses are okay but never on time. Taxis are cheap (Uber, Freenow) in order to travel to greek islands we used ferrys that are comfortable but a little bit expensive. Safety situation: I felt safe in whole Greece, but as a girl I would not recommend to live in Victoria social activities: the esn-network in Athens is very good, a lot of parties and trips where organised, e.g. mykonos, santorini The sport options are not the best. There are gyms that cost 20-40 euros a month. Running was possible in a park behind the university, but the park was not made for running (narrow paths, a lot of plants and trees, steep) There a paddle tennis facilities and there are public calisthenic parks

It was a good decision to go to Athens. I met a lot of nice people from whole Europe. There were a lot of events and trips that made my exchange special.
