1. Preparation

I would apply for accommodation as soon as possible and ask previous students where to live (around Blasco Ibanez is the perfect location). I flew there and had no issues finding a flight. Besides that, get a Valenbisi account and apply for a monthly metro pass which is quite easy to do.

2. Accommodation

I lived in a shared accommodation with four other students in Benimaclet using HelpHousing. I can neither recommend the organisation nor the location. Close to Blasco Ibanez is by far the best spot in the city, as most student activities take place there and it is not too far away from the beach and the university. Most of Valencia is safe, although the old city can be quite sketchy sometimes during the night. As far as the organisation goes, I can't say too much, since I won't recommend mine, but there are a few websites such as Uniplaces and such which offer services quite easily.

3. Academic life at host university

The courses are quite difficult, but overall the atmosphere is more friendly especially towards the teachers. Overall, people attend the lessons more often than at WU, but if you are already studying BBE or something with high attendance requirements then you should be used to that already. I would recommend going thoroughly through which courses you want to take beforehand since it is quite difficult to change afterwards.

5. Every day life in the host country

Valencia is an amazing city. Try to bike everywhere and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Fallas are amazing and definitely take advantage of Happy Erasmus and Erasmus Life activities.

6. Testimonial

Overall, this was the most amazing semester of my life. Valencia is an incredible city for doing your exchange, especially since there are activities happening every single day. Try to do as much as possible and just to connect with people from all over the world, as that is the most rewarding experience. Bonus: try to take advantage of the free Valencian course offered by the university, as it not only helps with the language but also gives you a lot of information about the local culture.
